Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology 24th Annual Diversity Gala

The students of the Department of Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology (CECP) at Marquette University cordially invite you to the 24th Annual Diversity Gala to help support the CECP Graduate Student Organization's (GSO) Diversity Scholarship.

SATURDAY, MAY 3

6:30 to 9:30 p.m. CDT
Alumni Memorial Union, Monaghan Ballroom, third floor
1442 W. Wisconsin Ave., Marquette University campus

The event will feature a keynote address by Sara Abdulrasool, licensed professional counselor. Abdulrasool, a Middle Eastern native of Iraq, immigrated to the U.S. as a refugee in her teens. She holds a BA in Neuroscience from Temple University and an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marquette University. Fluent in English, Arabic, and French, she works as a Behavioral Therapist at Sebastian Family Psychology Practice LLC, supporting underserved Communities.  Sara joined Executive Function Impairment (FEI) Behavioral Health in 2020 as an EAP Clinician, providing crisis support and referrals, later transitioning to account management in 2022, where she delivers organizational support and critical incident response. Passionate about wellness, she founded Women Walking into Wellness on Instagram, promoting mental and physical well-being.

Prices will increase by $5 after April 1 for each in-person registration option, and an additional $5 per person at the door on the day of the event.

Registration includes light snacks and soft drinks, a cash bar and a silent auction and raffle. Business-casual dress attire recommended.
