We will discuss the book Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life by Fr. Richard Rohr, a Franciscan priest and founder of the Contemplative Action Center. Rohr posits that the first decades of our life are filled with discerning the rules, guided by our ego, ambition and a drive to “do” and “be” someone according to the external dictates that we apply. He states that it is in the second half of our life, that we truly begin to know ourselves, one another, and God, and it is in the second half of life that we begin to explore and live from our true purpose, call and relationship within the greater love relationships that define our lives.
