Wauwatosa, Wis.
As vice president of global supplier quality at Husco, Pat Masterson loves collaborating with people from around the world to solve problems. A true innovator, Pat is energized by finding ways to do things better and faster while making a long-term impact for Husco’s customers.
Husco, based in Waukesha, Wis., specializes in designing and manufacturing high-performance hydraulic and electro-mechanical components for both automotive and off-highway applications. Over the course of his career with Husco, Pat has worked in supply chain, operations, sales and engineering. He has a passion for all aspects of manufacturing as well as helping Husco continue to serve its customers and grow globally.
Pat has also had the opportunity to coach and mentor others, both in his personal and professional life. He coaches youth soccer for the Tosa Kickers and mentors the next generation of Marquette leaders through the E-Lead (Excellence in Leadership) program.
Pat is a man of strong faith and helps lead Men of Christ, a faith-based apostolate dedicated to helping men live their Catholic faith boldly. Its mission is to develop men in their vocations as husbands, fathers and leaders within their community. Each year during Lent, the Men of Christ host a conference, where they unite more than 4,000 men from around the country to pray and grow in their faith.
Pat credits his Marquette education with building the foundation of his leadership journey, teaching him about work ethic, overcoming challenges and the importance of teamwork.
Name someone (past or present) with whom you’d like to have dinner.
I would love to have dinner with Shaka Smart. I respect the way he leads his team, challenges them to grow and loves them as people.
Name a Marquette faculty or staff member who had an impact on you, and how.
I can’t name only one! Dr. Kris Ropella, Dr. Joe Schimmels and the entire mechanical engineering department have been very impactful. Kate Trevey, director of engineering and innovation leadership, has been especially instrumental in my leadership development. Kate listens to my ideas and challenges me to be a better leader. She cares for all students and is committed to growing leaders in the Marquette community and beyond. I am thankful for her friendship.
What is one of your favorite Marquette memories?
My wife Sarah, Bus Ad ’97, and I met in 1994 as Marquette sophomores when she held the door open for me at Schroeder Hall!
