As chief financial officer for Augmedics, Rajesh Asarpota is working to make an innovative new technology standard of care for spine surgery. The company has developed augmented reality tools that give spine surgeons the ability to see a patient’s spine as if they have X-ray vision. The result is more precise surgeries.

Christina K. Starkey, Bus Ad ’11
New York, N.Y.
Christina Starkey chose Marquette because she wanted to work in finance and was drawn to the rigor and job placement possibilities of the Accelerating Ingenuity in Markets program. But she also liked the feeling she got on campus. “One of my favorite things about Marquette,” she says, “was that you knew you were surrounded by good human beings who cared about doing well but also doing right by the people around them.”

A 40-year veteran of the real estate business, Michelle Panovich of MichDon Properties generously shares her hard-won expertise with Marquette students preparing to work in her field. “This business requires you to think on your feet, to reach out to others for information and advice and to be creative,” she says, adding that she especially enjoys mentoring people just entering the field.
