Pedro Arrupe Award

FoyFranco G. LaCorte, Health Sciences student
Park Ridge, Ill.

“This pre-dental student has exemplified the ideals of Father Arrupe as a man or woman for others through his leadership roles, commitment to service and contributions to the Marquette, Milwaukee and potentially global communities. His actions reflect a genuine dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of others, aligning closely with the Jesuit values of service and leadership advocated by Father Pedro Arrupe,” says his nominator, Dr. William Hirsch.

In addition to his academics, Franco is busy with his involvement with the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, the Pre-Dental Organization, Trap and Skeet Club and serves as a biomedical sciences student ambassador. As an aspiring dentist, service to the community is at the heart of Franco’s Marquette experience. He states, “Receiving the Pedro Arrupe Award is my proudest moment because it encapsulates everything I’ve learned at Marquette: to be a person for others, to serve with humility and to let faith guide my actions.”
