Professional Achievement Award
Marcelo Bartholo, Bus Ad ’01
Moorestown, N. J.
In his work for consulting firm EY, Marcelo Bartholo serves as vice chair of the U.S. East Region, the company’s largest region. “My favorite part of this job,” he says, “is working with some of the world’s brightest people to advise our clients and build a better working world.”
He chose to lay the foundations for this career at Marquette because he was drawn to the international business program and the values of a Jesuit education, “especially the focus on excellence and service,” Marcelo explains. “Servant leadership is at the core of how I strive to operate each day.” In particular, he is committed to supporting others so that they can achieve their full potential.
So it’s little surprise that outside of work, Marcelo loves supporting his two children in their academic and athletic pursuits. He coaches both his daughter’s tennis team and his son’s basketball team. “These are my favorite hours of the week,” he says.
Some of his best times in college included basketball games and evenings at the Rec Center. Looking back, the years at Marquette “helped shape my character and values, allowing me to focus on others and [EY] ahead of my personal goals,” Marcelo says. “Attending Marquette was one of the best decisions I made.”
