Mary Neville Bielefeld Award

BohnePatti Pavlic Bohne, Comm ’95
Brookfield, Wis.

One of Patti Bohne’s earliest Marquette memories is attending meetings on campus with her mother, Sandy Pavlic, Arts '51, who was deeply involved in her alma mater. So it is fitting that Patti is now receiving the Mary Neville Bielefeld Award, the same honor bestowed on her mother in 1978.

There was no question where Patti would attend college, given the long family history at Marquette: “There was only one college application submitted and it was to Marquette,” she recalls.

Patti has continued the family tradition of service to Marquette. Soon after graduation, she followed her mom and joined the Association of Marquette University Women, serving as a director from 1996 to 2002. She has volunteered for the Blue & Gold Fund Auction and served on the Women’s Council since 2011. A loyal Marquette sports fan and season ticket holder for men’s basketball, Patti and her husband, Bart, Eng ’92, recently established the Bohne Family Endowed Athletic Scholarship.

In 2005, Patti launched Olive Promotions and Apparel, a marketing and promotions company, which she runs along with her husband. A longtime middle school girls basketball coach, Patti also is current president of the Parents Club at Catholic Memorial High School, where daughters Mary Grace and Lilly are students. Both girls were baptized at the Chapel of the Holy Family.

“I feel so honored to share the award with so many amazing women,” Patti says. “The award is a culmination of my life that has been blessed in so many ways because Marquette University has been a part of it every step of the way.”

Fun Facts:

Name someone (past or present) with whom you'd like to have dinner.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Mother Teresa, Billy Joel, and my mom, Sandy Pavlic. It would be entertaining and thought-provoking!

Name a Marquette faculty or staff member who had an impact on you, and how.
Fr. John Naus. In his Philosophy of Humor class, Fr. Naus encouraged us to find humor in all things. One of the requirements was to keep a journal of the funny things we encountered each day. Until you look for humor in your day, it can be hard to find. But once you open your eyes to it, you see that it’s all around us.

Leave a congratulatory message for Patti!
