Attorney John Byrne is internationally known for his efforts to understand and halt financial crimes, including money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing, and human trafficking. This distinguished career began at Marquette, where he earned a degree in history.

Jeffery P. Robinson, Arts ’78
Seattle, Wash.

At an age when many people might be preparing to retire, Jeffery Robinson founded The Who We Are Project, which grapples with the history of anti-Black racism in the United States, promoting education, public conversation, healing, and change.

Bishop Walter F. Harvey, Arts ’85
Milwaukee, Wis.

Bishop Walter Harvey finds inspiration in one particular basketball move: the alley-oop. “It’s a spectacular basketball pass that sets up the team and a capable teammate for greater success and victory,” he explains. “I see myself as a point guard in life. Another person’s success is my success.”

Although she lives in the Washington, D.C. metro area, where she has a busy career as a public affairs advisor for Milwaukee-based law firm Foley & Lardner, Kate Kros remains deeply embedded in the Marquette community.
