Lora Strigens is the vice president for planning and facilities management at Marquette University. She is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the university’s master plan and all capital projects; and collaborating with university leadership on key strategic initiatives related to the physical campus. She oversees the Department of Facilities Planning and Management, which includes campus planning, environmental health and safety, facilities services, parking operations, and sustainability. In her role, Strigens works closely with all units across campus, engaging with academics, students, administrative departments, student life, and other campus and community stakeholders to ensure that planning decisions are approached in an integrated way.

Prior to joining Marquette, Strigens was an associate vice president at a national architecture, engineering and planning firm, and then moved inside higher education at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee where she was the associate director of planning. A licensed architect and planner, Strigens has worked on numerous education and cultural projects both locally and nationally, and has provided leadership on projects from early visioning through implementation. She has also served as an adjunct faculty member at the School of Architecture & Urban Planning at UWM. Strigens has presented at several professional conferences and events, and published on the topics of master planning, plan implementation, and integrating sustainability into planning and design efforts.

Strigens received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and two master’s degrees from UWM. She has received the GOLD (Graduate of the Last Decade) award from UWM, was recognized by the Milwaukee Business Journal as a “40 Under 40” winner, received a leadership award from Girl Scouts of Wisconsin, and has been recognized by the BizTimes among Notable Women in Construction and Design.

Brian Troyer serves as the associate vice provost of enrollment management and Dean of Admission at Marquette University.  Prior to joining Marquette in 2016, he held various leadership roles in admissions and enrollment at the University of Kentucky and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. With over 15 years of enrollment experience, Brian has prioritized expanding access, leveraging data to inform practice, and building connections between the work of new student enrollment and continuing student success. In his 7 years at Marquette, the institution has welcomed its largest and most diverse classes in history. With the help of a tremendously talented team in undergraduate admissions, Brian has helped implement a variety of policies and practices to support student access and success and help Marquette achieve its undergraduate enrollment goals.

Brian is the president-elect of the National Catholic College Admission Association; he is also actively involved with the Wisconsin Association of College Admission Counseling (WACAC), the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), and the Counsel of Jesuit Admission Directors (CJAD). Brian has presented at regional and national conferences on topics including admissions and financial aid, demographic shifts in secondary and higher education, the use of standardized testing in college admissions, the impact of college athletics on enrollment, and others. He has been quoted in a wide range of publications, including NPR, Forbes, and US News. He also recently completed his coursework in Marquette’s PhD program in Educational Policy and Leadership and is currently working on his dissertation; his research focuses on disparities in college access, and on centering each student’s lived experience within the college search and selection process.
