Alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff gathered for the dedication of Dr. E.J. and Margaret O'Brien Hall 

Marquette University hosted a dedication ceremony for its newest academic building, Dr. E. J. and Margaret O’Brien Hall — the new home for the College of Business Administration, Graduate School of Management and innovation leadership programs — on Wednesday, May 3. Read more.

Marquette ranked by Princeton Review for ROI, internships

The Princeton Review released its list of 209 Best Value Colleges for 2023 — Marquette University was again named to the list. Additionally, Marquette ranked 16th nationally among private schools in the Best Schools for Internships category. Read more.

Rev. John Thiede, S.J., named acting vice president for mission and ministry

Rev. John Thiede, S.J., associate vice provost at Marquette, has been named acting vice president for mission and ministry. Father Thiede, who will begin in his new role effective immediately, succeeds Rev. James Voiss, S.J. Read more.

Kathleen Kugi-Tom named to BizTimes Milwaukee’s Notable Women in Construction and Design

Kathleen Kugi-Tom, senior project manager in the Office of Facilities Planning and Management, has helped lead efforts on many of the university’s major construction projects in her 30 years at the university. Read more.

Weekend service projects in NE Ohio

The Marquette Club of Northeast Ohio held back-to-back weekend service projects at the end of April. On April 22, the group worked together on a neighborhood clean-up sponsored by “the FEST,” a summer festival that brings people together for an inspiring day of faith, family and fun.

On April 29, the group attended the Boys Hope/Girls Hope of Northeast Ohio, where they prepared meals and helped clean homes.

 

Clothing Drive

Nursing students organize clothing drive for discharged hospital patients

College of Nursing graduate students Emily Kilmer, Jillian Shirilla, Kayla Sallinger and Jillene Saler are holding a clothing drive for five hospitals in the Milwaukee area to make sure no one is discharged with nothing to wear. Read more.

ZmolekJahred Zmolek, Comm ’14, was named chief financial officer of Killerspin Table Tennis. He lives in Chicago.


 

NadeauJill Nadeau, Sp ’82, was promoted to executive director of The Larry Meiller Show on Wisconsin Public Radio. She lives in Watertown, Wis.


 

MasonMegan (Garfield) Mason, Bus Ad ’12, was promoted to director of facility operations for HealthTrust serving all HCA hospitals. She lives in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
