When Margaret Sankovitz decided to pursue journalism, she knew she would need the best education she could get, which is how she ended up at Marquette. Besides her impressive resume, her experience at Marquette served as a launchpad for Margaret’s lifelong commitment to service for others, and even united her with the love of her life in Copus Hall.

Ignatian Leadership Award
Caroline Peacock, Nursing student
Traverse City, Mich.
Caroline Peacock has served as a leader on service trips through Marquette MARDI GRAS, a student-run, student-led volunteer organization focused on disaster relief. She served as the Marquette University Student Nurse Association professional developmental chair and serves the Milwaukee community through Midnight Run which focuses on serving the particular needs of the hungry and homeless people living in the Marquette neighborhood and beyond.
Nora Finnigan Werra Faculty Achievement Award
Dr. Michelle Mynlieff
Wauwatosa, Wis.
Dr. Michelle Mynlieff has been a faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences for 29 years. In addition to running an extramurally funded research program in the area of neurophysiology, she has taught many students from freshman through graduate students. Prior to becoming department chair she served as the inaugural Academic Integrity Director and as chair of the University Academic Senate.
