YOUNG ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR AWARD
Neal R. Lofy, Arts ’04
Milwaukee, Wis.
When you’re a police investigator, every day is different. Regardless of how the day unfolds, Neal Lofy never turns down an opportunity to serve or help someone, including his colleagues, human trafficking victims and survivors. In fact, he started a nonprofit to help human trafficking survivors.
Fight to End Exploitation (FEE) takes a holistic, victim-centered, approach to advocating for human trafficking survivors. Neal’s taking his fight to the next level, with a goal to establish a long-term residential facility for survivors, ensuring they are always equipped and empowered to be the best versions of themselves. By taking care of the whole person, Neal witnesses remarkable growth every day and cultivates strong community members who are making a difference.
As an honoree of the International Association of Chiefs of Police “40 under 40” award, Neal knows his place in the world: he’s a servant leader, relying on his faith to guide him. That doesn’t just apply to his work with survivors, but also to his support of peers. His nonprofit work comes full circle, offering advocacy services to law enforcement. FEE provides experts and advocates to departments handling human trafficking cases, ensuring that cura personalis is in full force in police stations in seven Wisconsin counties. And it’s growing — soon FEE will be available in all areas of the state.
Because of Neal, people are finding their voices. And because of them, Neal is seeing his dreams come true.
What is one of your favorite Marquette memories?
One of the greatest memories I had while I was at Marquette was attending all of basketball games. Being part of the run to the Final Four in 2003 was exciting. I remember traveling to Minnesota to watch the Sweet Sixteen round with my family and friends before making it to the Final Four. Most importantly, the friendships that I formed during these times still exist, and we still cheer on Marquette together!
Leave a congratulatory message for Neal!
