FRIENDS OF MARQUETTE ATHLETICS AWARD

FrisingerSheila C. Frisinger and Kevin L. Frisinger, Bus Ad ’85
Delafield, Wis.

Sheila and Kevin Frisinger treasure the opportunity to support student-athletes on their journeys. “Watching student-athletes develop and grow while at Marquette and then watching them change the world after graduating is phenomenal,” they say.

The Frisingers believe strongly in the Ignatian ideal of “being men and women for others,” which has led them to many opportunities to help change their corner of the world. Kevin credits his Marquette experience of living with and through others for providing the foundation for happiness and success throughout his life.

In their professional lives, Kevin and Sheila both find fulfillment through leadership roles that allow them to serve others. As a senior investment consultant with Robert W. Baird & Co., Kevin says the most rewarding part of his work is serving his clients and becoming a trusted “near family member”. He takes seriously his responsibility to advise on many intergenerational family issues and is humbled by the trust his clients place in him.

Sheila has spent years advocating for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD), including her own adult son. In 2021, she co-founded Journey21, an organization with a mission to provide safe, supportive, and enriching living and learning options for adults with IDD in Waukesha County and surrounding communities. In 2022, Journey21 plans to break ground on an Enrichment Center, which will serve as a venue for programs, classes, events, and social gatherings.

Kevin and Sheila say that supporting Marquette athletics and student-athletes over the years has been extraordinarily rewarding. “As we often say, we've gotten so much more out of it than we've put into it,” the Frisingers remark.

Why did you choose to attend Marquette?
Kevin: For a first-generation college student from a small town in Wisconsin, Marquette was the big university in the big city near the big lake with the big-time athletics program!

What is one of your favorite Marquette memories?
Kevin: Meeting 15 new friends the first weekend of dorm life in McCormick Hall, all of whom remain great friends to this day.

Leave a congratulatory message for Sheila and Kevin!
