Catholic Social Teaching calls us to maintain respect for each human person and work for the common good, among other ways of living justly. Marquette University’s Education Preparedness Program (EPP) has found a way to live this mission while providing currently and formerly incarcerated individuals with educational opportunities that expand traditional boundaries of higher education. EPP helps to create a prison-to-school pipeline to support reentry and flourishing for people who have been directly impacted by incarceration. Their evidence-based programming involves research showing that education can provide currently and formerly incarcerated individuals with a viable pathway to successful reintegration.Join Drs. Theresa Tobin and Kathy Coffey-Guenther as they discuss this innovative academic and community-serving endeavor. They will explore our mission of education rooted in hope, social justice, the human dignity of each person, and the ways that redemption and giftedness may stand side by side in our vocational purpose when seeking a life of meaning.
